HD-LDAP - Directory Service

Thanks to our LDAP connection you can create a user environment with a "single-sign-on"!

A connection to the directory service (Active Directory) means that you can avoid double administration and the user information is automatically updated from a directory.

Advantages of LDAP

Many companies have chosen to handle their user accounts in an LDAP catalogue, e.g. Active Directory, Lotus Notes or Novell (NDS). Through the integration of Artologik software to the existing catalogue server, you can eliminate the requirement of double administration of users. The same login procedure is used in Artologik as in your other applications, i.e. the same user name and password are used.

Other user information, such as name, e-mail address and phone number are imported from the LDAP catalogue and are kept updated in this way. The update occurs each time the user logs in to Artologik, or through import by the administrator. The update can also occur automatically, e.g. each night.

HD-LDAP is of advantage to the network administrator, since all the information on a user only has to be entered in one place; the user's rights in the network, which applications should be available for the user etc. When this information needs to be changed it only has to be done in one place, which reduces the workload.

For the individual user, the advantage is that a system with a "single-sign-on" is created. The user only has to log in to the network once, in order to access everything that his or her user rights allow.
