The SR-SSL plug-in helps you increase data security by letting you specify that those who access the program are required to do so via a so-called https connection. When a https connection is used, the transmission between the web server and the browser is encrypted using SSL (Security Sockets Layer) technology.
You may find this plug-in useful if, for instance, your surveys contain confidential information or if you handle sensitive personal details. The setting can be applied to both the administration interface and to the public website where respondents answer surveys.
Please note that a https connection requires that the web server where the software is installed has issued a certificate for the current domain address. If you have installed Survey&Report on your own web server and you want to allow https connections, you must obtain a certificate from an authorized issuer. You do not need to obtain a certificate if you have a rental license for Survey&Report, as the program is then running off Artisan's servers, and Artisan then provides the certificate.
