The administrator registers all the equipment to be available for the user, who in turn gets a practical overview of all items that are available for reservation in conjunction with a chosen object. It can be for instance a projector for the conference room or a trailer for the company car.
All equipment is booked through a centralized system, thus ascertaining that it is impossible to double-book items. This also applies to the reservation of objects and both administrators and users can thus rest assured that their bookings in EZbooking and EZ-Equip will not be affected
The administrator registers the equipment to be bookable in conjunction with an object. When a user then for instance books a meeting room he or she can view all the equipment that has been connected to that particular room. The user then selects whether to book any and if so, how many, pieces of extra equipment. NB All equipment must be connected to objects within the system to be available for reservation. It is not possible to book equipment separately.

Zürich University is the largest of its kind in Switzerland and at the moment 850 of its employees uses the Artologik EZbooking program to make reservations for 68 shared objects, many of them connected with numerous optional pieces of equipment.
The users have been divided into 123 user organizations consisting of both organizational units and external companies. “With EZ-Equip the Department of Equipment and Logistics at Zürich University can secure maximum use of shared resources, thus saving money through the coordination of maintenance and acquisition of both new and already available objects”, says Monika Folini, project manager of the ‘Shared Equipment’ project.
The aim of the project was to implement a centralized solution that provided all the university’s users with an easy-to-access system for the booking of shared resources. “The system is stable and user-friendly” continues Ms Folini. “Our users quickly learned how to use EZbooking and EZ-Equip”.
